About the Company

Our client is the US subsidiary of a globally active European industrial company with a long-standing history. The organization serves specialized manufacturing sectors and is entering a critical phase of strategic transformation.

Your Mission

We are seeking a pragmatic and results-oriented Interim Managing Director to lead the US organization through a period of transformation and stabilization. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role that requires both strategic oversight and operational execution. The ideal candidate brings a track record of successful restructuring engagements within mid-sized industrial or manufacturing firms, preferably in environments with $10–50M in revenue and/or 50–100 employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate strategic options: Contribute to a new business plan, explore long-term site viability, and position the subsidiary for renewed market relevance.
  • Restructure sales & finance functions: Establish transparency, optimize structures, and support long-term profitability
  • Lead operational turnaround: Identify inefficiencies, execute necessary cost reductions (esp. personnel and overhead), and streamline internal processes.
  • Communicate with banks & key stakeholders: Manage reporting and cash flow oversight; foster trust with external partners and the German HQ.
  • Act as bridge to future leadership: Stabilize the organization and facilitate a smooth leadership transition within ~6–8 months.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading restructuring efforts in mid-sized industrial/manufacturing firms (ideally $10–50M in annual revenue).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including family ownership and corporate leadership in Germany.
  • Strong understanding of US employment practices, organizational downsizing, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with technical sales and long-cycle B2B commercial environments.
  • Balanced leadership style – assertive and results-driven, yet collaborative and empathetic.
  • Previous interim management experience is required.

Why This Opportunity?

This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact in a legacy company with great potential. You will work closely with a leadership team committed to restoring the subsidiary’s strength and long-term market viability. If you bring the right mix of industrial knowledge, restructuring experience, and leadership maturity – this is your chance to drive real change.

Please note that only individuals with relevant experience in restructuring and interim leadership within industrial environments will be contacted.
