The mission of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACC Midwest) is to promote and assist in the expansion of bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States. What You'll Do:

As a Recruiting & Consulting Services Intern, you'll be an essential part of our team, collaborating to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. The Intern will support GACC Midwest’s Recruiting Services, which assists German and American companies with their hiring needs. In this capacity, the responsibilities include:

  • Talent Discovery: Leverage your internet-based research skills to identify potential candidates who are a perfect fit for exciting job openings.
  • Communication Excellence: Utilize your strong communication skills to connect with potential candidates via phone, email, and other channels.
  • Cutting-Edge Programs: Make use of platforms like LinkedIn and our recruiting database to evaluate and shortlist qualified candidates.
  • Interviewing Mastery: Engage in the art of interviewing, honing your skills in selecting the best candidates for various positions.
  • Client Collaboration: Collaborate with external clients, potentially contributing to business development and marketing initiatives within the Recruiting Services.
  • Account Management: Account management in recruiting requires a balance between client satisfaction and candidate well-being, ensuring that both parties' needs are addressed.

What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Proficiency in internet-based research, allowing you to effectively discover, connect with, and evaluate candidates for diverse job openings.
  • A strong interest in HR topics, especially Recruiting and a curiosity about Consulting Services.
  • Exceptional English skills, enabling you to confidently communicate with potential candidates, conduct interviews, and engage with external clients; German skills are of benefit.
  • Due to the large amount of communication with clients and candidates involved with this position, Recruiting Services Interns must have a high interest in interpersonal communication and possess skills in this area.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing: Having prior touchpoints or experience with manufacturing companies is a valuable asset, as they constitute our primary clientele.
