Position: Sales Manager – Automation, Production

Location: Home Office located in the Midwest, ideally near a major airport.  

Our client is the newly established US subsidiary of German-based manufacturing group, a renowned industry partner for workpiece carrier systems with 25+ years of experience under their belt. With a legacy of trust, they engineer and supply precision carrier systems and clips, meticulously facilitating the transport, cleaning, washing, and fortification of manufactured components. Their innovative solutions have empowered companies worldwide to streamline production processes through in-house system design.

Our client is currently seeking a Sales Manager with the primary objective of boosting revenue generation for precision-engineered workpiece carriers, baskets, and components within their own carrier system brand. This role requires an independent self-starter capable of collaborative teamwork with colleagues both at the German HQ and local sales representatives.

As the Sales Manager, your role encompasses:

  • Create and implement approaches to generate leads, fostering important connections within targeted sectors, with a key emphasis on engaging supplier and OEM’s seeking intralogistics production and automation solutions.
  • Ensure that our clients carrier system brand is the customer’s supplier of choice for relevant storage and material handling modules within holistic intralogistics production and automation systems.
  • Actively participate in trade shows, industry events, and gatherings to showcase standard as well as the possibilities for customized products, effectively engaging with prospective clients.
  • Collaborate synergistically with sales reps to nurture and expand client connections, jointly identifying avenues for growth.
  • Facilitate communication between US-based customer inquiries and project management in Germany, streamlining the preparation of customized offers and proposals.
  • Travel frequently to connect with clients, participate in events, and foster collaboration with colleagues across US and global offices.
  • Assume a pivotal role in upcoming expansion initiatives.
  • Work closely with technical teams to cultivate an in-depth understanding of product specifications, ensuring your capacity to effectively convey technical aspects to customers.

What Our Client Is Looking For:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant Sales/Business Development experience, preferably focused on technical products for production, automation and logistics within automotive, aerospace, medical devices, and defense sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering a plus.
  • Proficiency in building rapport, adept communication, and confident presentation skills to engage with diverse clients and industry professionals.
  • Willingness to travel in line with client engagement requirements and event participation.
  • German language skills of benefit, but not required.
