Position: Key Account Manager Automotive

Location: Northern Ohio or Home Office located in the Upper Midwest/Great Lakes region. Candidates must be available for nationwide travel of up to 70%.

Our client is the US-subsidiary of a German-based major supplier of customized on-glass solder connectors for the global automotive industry. Established in 2012, the company’s products are used to connect the electrical system of a vehicle with the applications for rear windows and front windshields, i.e., heating panels, antennas and sensors.

As our client continues to scale its company, they are currently looking for an experienced Key Account Manager Automotive who will focus on establishing and nurturing long term relationships with key customers within the automotive glass supplier industry in North America.


  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant decision-makers within the automotive supplier customer base to ensure a stable and trust-based business partnership. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and work with internal teams to develop and execute action plans accordingly.
  • Develop and execute a strategic Sales plan for the US which positions the company for strong growth.
  • Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales team headquartered in Germany to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support including, but not limited to: 
  • pricing and quoting 
  • preparation of sample shipments and delivery documentation 
  • technical clarification and/or commercial negotiation of new projects. 
  • Work with appropriate contacts at accounts on multiple levels to initiate and drive forward new projects.
  • Project Management assistance including: 
  • Monitoring and guiding customer pre-production visits 
  • Sourcing new materials and components needed for projects and/or manufacturing
  • Implementation of new projects and orders 
  • Evaluation of figures including sales and key performance indicators. 
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff


  • 3+ years of Sales or Business Development experience selling into the automotive industry.
  • College degree in Business Administration or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards (e.g., APQP, PPAP, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building strong relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.
  • Hands-on mentality, proven ability to work independently and autonomously with self-motivation.
