GACC Midwest is seeking a full-time Manager, Chapter Development & Midwest Outreach to be based in our Chicago office, reporting to the Vice President. This position is responsible for supporting GACC Midwest’s Chapter operations in Colorado, Minnesota and Wisconsin, in addition to expanding outreach throughout the Midwest. The individual will be primarily responsible for supporting Chapters in driving their membership growth, exchanging best practices, supporting their events, connecting chapters and members to each other and resources within GACC Midwest including various events, services and opportunities.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Pro-actively strengthen, develop and grow our Chapters with the goal to expand the footprint, connections and opportunities for members throughout the Midwest, customized to the needs of each chapter.
  • Actively seek to promote the activities and events of the regional Chapters, including supporting acquisition of speakers for their events and leveraging expertise within the GACC network.
  • Aid Chapter Executive Directors and board members in managing and supporting their member organization, including supporting outreach to potential new members.
  • Manage all Chapter requests and support needs within the GACC Midwest team, especially relating to the above activities and strengthen communication between GACC Midwest’s Chicago office and Chapters.
  • Develop and implement strategies for expanding GACC Midwest’s network to more effectively support German subsidiaries and other members throughout the Midwest.
  • Proactively identify, meet, and engage prospective members in Midwest states outside of Chapter states, particularly subsidiaries of German firms, with the clearly defined goal of increasing membership in these areas. Integrate these companies into the activities and mission of GACC Midwest, while connecting them to each other and the resources within GACC Midwest.
  • Actively visit existing and potential new members at their sites to learn about their operations and businesses in order to better tailor membership services and events. Some meetings will be done independently, while others will be accompanied by GACC Midwest industry specialists or senior management.
  • Document all relevant communication with chapters, members and potential members within GACC Midwest’s CRM system.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of work experience in related areas.

• Strong focus on building and nurturing relationships

• Proactive and highly responsive

• Prefer German and English language skills, both written and verbal

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact and engage multiple levels within an organization (C-level, sales, HR, etc.)

• Solid understanding of the US and German markets, business environments and culture

• Overnight travel required regionally, primarily for the occasional support of Chapter events and operations and outreach to other Midwest states.

• Must be available to attend Chapter and partner events, including outside of normal business hours.
