Note to applicants: The Apprenticeship Network intern will need to work out of the GACC Midwest office in downtown Chicago. As such, applicants must either currently reside in Chicago or be available for immediate relocation. Please note that if hired, proof of vaccination will be required.

The mission of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACC Midwest) is to promote and assist in the expansion of bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States. All internships offer the opportunity to gain work experience in a truly bilingual and bicultural environment, with support from colleagues that can help speed the learning curve of understanding intercultural differences and nuances.
GACC Midwest Apprenticeship Networks Department supports its member companies and other industry associations, educational institutions and government agencies to cover the demand for skilled workforce in various industry sectors. To this end, we help with the creation of new programs based on the German model of dual education and assist them with the management of existing programs. The position supports GACC Midwest’s intermediary function for the ICATT (Industry Consortium for Advanced Technical Training) and MAT2 (Michigan Advanced Technician Training) Apprenticeship programs. How You’ll Contribute
Support all aspects of the development, implementation, and management of German-style apprenticeship programs in the US.
This includes the certification of the program framework and content as well as the development, adaption, implementation, and management of mid-term and final examinations for apprentices, based on original exams apprentices in Germany take:
