Position Overview
The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States (GACC South) is seeking a full-time Marketing Intern for our North and South Carolina region. This 12-month internship, starting in January 2025, offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our Marketing Department, particularly supporting our Membership and Event Manager with ongoing and new events.
The position is compensated at $15/hour.
As a Marketing Intern, you will collaborate with our staff and managers to support event planning, organization, and execution, as well as engage in our membership administration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the organization, planning, implementation, and follow-up or events in North and South Carolina
- Supporting the administration of our membership community by maintaining up-to-date information.
- Engaging closely with members to enhance retention and continuously improve our services and benefits.
You will thrive in this role if you have prior exposure to event planning or related fields, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in close customer contact is essential. Your proactive approach will be crucial in fostering positive relationships within our membership community.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in business, economics, hospitality, or a related field.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work collaboratively in a team.
- Strong understanding of prioritization and efficient allocation of time and resources.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High comfort level in interacting with clients.
- Ability to work effectively and reliably in a remote-based environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Driving license.
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills (German language skills preferred but not mandatory).
