Project Manager, Skills Initiative USA

Job description:

As part of the Skills Initiative, GACC South is working to expand the German model of dual education for vocational training in the US. This position manages the day-to-day operations of the Skills Initiative. The Project Manager, Skills Initiative role entails but is not limited to the following areas and responsibilities:

  • Conception and implementation of strategic project plans for the introduction and implementation of the Dual Vocational Training Program
  • Responsibility of project planning and implementation, as well as the achievement of goals
  • Budget responsibility for all Skills activities, including future personnel planning and budgeting
  • Coordination of the individual involved stakeholders in the project as well as the internal partners
  • Contact person for external stakeholders and partners and any inquiries about the project
  • Guidance of the project through communication, meeting structure, documentation, milestones as well as the adherence of timelines, budgets and goals

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the German Dual Vocational Training model is not required, but beneficial
  • Several years of relevant work experience in the relevant work environment advantageous
  • Ability to manage different projects at the same time
  • Highly dedicated and independent work attitude
  • High level of intercultural competence, a good understanding of the US and German markets and familiarity with both business cultures
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, German a plus but not required
  • Absolute discretion in dealing with confidential information as well as a confident manner combined with team spirit and dedication
  • Willingness to travel within the US and Germany
